ISAAC NEWTON

Isaac Newton (1643-1727) was a 17th century English scientist and mathematician who helped developed modern infinitesimal calculus, coinciding with Leibniz’s own discoveries. His form of calculus was mainly for geometric purposes, with him describing it in the Principia Mathematica as “the method of first and last ratios.” Newton’s Method is named after him.
