MADHAVA

Madhava (c. 1340 - c. 1425) was an Indian mathematician and astronomer hailing from Sangamagrama. His works in calculus were related to trigonometry, as his calculus developed by using infinite series to map out trigonometric functions. He was one of the first mathematicians to take an interest in the infinite, and his works on limits and infinite series left a significant mark on the Middle Ages.
